Job summary

The Borough of Tenafly seeks a driver/laborer for the Department of Public Works. Duties include manual labor, recycling, road maintenance, sewers, buildings and grounds, vehicle maintenance, grass cutting and snow plowing.

Must be able to work in all weather and be available for weekend standby and emergencies. Candidates should have a Class B CDL (Class A preferred) and may have mechanics experience with trucks, air brakes, small engines and hydraulics.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license required (Class A preferred).
• Willing to perform manual labor in all weather and overtime.
• Experience with truck maintenance and hydraulics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform road maintenance, sewer work, buildings and grounds upkeep.
• Recycle program support and equipment operation.
• Grass cutting and snow plowing.
• Vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed.

Job description

The Borough of Tenafly is seeking a driver/laborer to work within the Department of Public Works. Responsibilities include but are not limited to manual labor, recycling, road maintenance, sewers, buildings and grounds, vehicle maintenance, grass cutting, and snow plowing. Applicants should be prepared to perform duties in all weather conditions and work mandatory overtime. Mechanics experience working on trucks, air brakes as well as small engines and hydraulics preferred. Applicants must possess a Class "B" CDL (Class "A" preferred).

Hours are from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, 35 hours per week.

Must be available for weekend stand by and on call for emergencies.
