The ideal candidate must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A preferred) and possess experience in general maintenance, landscaping, tree work (including chipping and chainsaw operation), snow plowing, equipment operation, mechanical repairs, paving, and the use of hand and power tools. Automotive mechanical skills are highly desirable. Additional knowledge in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and welding is considered a strong asset. The successful candidate must be available to work full-time, including standby and emergency assignments on weekends and holidays. Availability for overtime during leaf collection in the fall and snow/ice control in the winter is also required. The selected candidate will be hired at Step 1 of the current Department of Public Works (DPW) contract, with a starting salary of $47,544.40.
