The Borough of River Edge's Department of Public Works is hiring a full-time Laborer to support recycling and maintenance tasks across parks, roads, sewers, and public buildings. Applicants must be U.S.

3 OPEN POSITIONS: LABORER

The Borough of River Edge has an opening for the position of Laborer
This is a full-time position in the Department of Public Works

DESCRIPTION:
Under immediate or general supervision, the main duty will consist of recycling. Will also perform various types of manual, skilled and semi-skilled tasks involved in maintenance of public buildings, parks, grounds, roads and sewers including, but not limited to chipping, landscaping, leaf/brush collection, shoveling, plowing, catch basin maintenance, road work, paving/patching, building & grounds maintenance, cleaning, and other related duties as assigned and as needed. Masonry skills a plus. Candidate must be customer service oriented and be able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. Must be available for mandatory emergency overtime (rain and snow events). A successful candidate must have U.S. Citizenship, a High School diploma or equivalent, and State of N.J. residency.

LICENSES:
Must have a valid Class “B” (CDL) driver’s license (with airbrake endorsement) and be able to obtain a tanker endorsement within one year from date of hire.

SALARY RANGE:
$47,761 - $55,543

Pre-employment physical and drug screen required. Salary based on experience. Position includes paid holidays, medical benefits, 457 plan, and pension.
