Job summary

Mid-Am Building Supply in Spring Hill, KS is seeking a full-time general labor worker to assemble, fabricate or modify windows, doors and related items. The role runs 6am–4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with a day shift and $21.50 per hour.

You will cut, fasten, caulk and assemble using wood, metal and glass, stock inbound materials, operate a forklift, and keep the facility and equipment clean and safe. A high school diploma or GED is required, plus basic woodworking and metalworking skills.

Qualifications

• Must read and write to follow instructions and shipping papers.
• Analytical skills to solve problems.
• Must pass forklift operators test after training.
• Experience with basic woodworking and metalworking tools.
• Able to work in a team.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Cutting, screwing, stapling, nailing, gluing, caulking and assembling wood/metal/glass into door and window units.
• Stock inbound materials.
• Maintain and clean equipment.
• Load outbound materials to vehicles.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Sweep and clean facilities.
• Observe safety rules.
• Assist in counting inventory.

Eligibility to earn $100 per quarter for Safety Bonus

POSITION SUMMARY

Assembly, fabrication or modification of windows, doors and other items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Cutting, screwing, stapling, nailing, gluing, caulking and assembling of wood, metal and glass materials into door and window units.
• Put away or stock inbound materials.
• Perform regular inspections, routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Load company and customer vehicles with outbound materials.
• Safely operate a forklift to assist in handling of materials.
• Sweep and clean facilities.
• Observe all safety rules: (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.).
• Assist in counting inventory.

Qualifications: POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to read and write so that written instructions and shipping papers can be easily followed and that corrections and needed information can be easily filled.
• Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
• Must be able to pass our forklift operators test after a normal training procedure.
• Must have skills working with basic wood working and metal working tools.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of carpentry or construction a plus.
