Job summary

Mid-Am Building Supply is seeking a Full Time Delivery Driver to transport materials to customers and branches. You will assist in loading/unloading, use a forklift, and complete DOT paperwork as required. A valid CDL and ability to follow written instructions are essential.

The role requires available daytime shifts, ability to work outside, and compliance with safety policies. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL operator’s license.
• Must be able to read and write so shipping papers can be followed.
• Must pass DOT required physical and drug test.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements is a plus.
• Experience with building material products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to customers and other Mid-Am branches.
• Operate forklift to load and unload materials.
• Check off materials from shipping papers and obtain signatures.
• Perform regular inspections and cleaning of equipment.
• Load and secure loads for safe transport.
• Fill out required DOT paperwork.
• Attend safety meetings and follow safety procedures.

• Travel Percentage: Road Warrior

• M-F with overtime; No overnights

• Eligibility for Safety Bonus opportunity to earn up $450/quarter

POSITION SUMMARY

Delivery of materials to customers and other branches of Mid-Am Building Supply picking up materials and assisting in unloading and loading of these materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Drive delivery vehicle to designated points.
• Check off materials from shipping papers and obtain proper signature verifying delivery.
• Perform regular inspections, routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Pick up materials as designated.
• Secure all loads in a safe and orderly manner.
• Operate a forklift to assist in the loading and unloading process.
• Fill out all required DOT paperwork.
• Must attend and participate in company safety meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be familiar with DOT requirements and basic operating skills for delivery equipment.
• Must be able to read and write so the written instructions on shipping papers can be easily followed and corrections and needed information can be easily filled in.
• Must be able to pass our forklift operator test after a normal training procedure.
• Follow oral and written instructions effectively.
• Must be able to fill out paperwork required by DOT.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of building material products is a plus.
