Job summary

Mid-Am Building Supply, Inc. is seeking a delivery driver to transport materials to customers and branch locations. The role involves loading, unloading, and ensuring safety protocols are followed throughout daily routes.

Responsibilities include operating a forklift, verifying paperwork, and performing routine equipment inspections. A valid CDL, ability to pass DOT tests, and a readiness to work outside regular hours are required for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL operator’s license.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours to meet customers’ needs.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug test as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to customers and other Mid-Am branches.
• Check off materials from shipping papers and obtain signatures.
• Inspect, maintain and clean delivery equipment.
• Pick up materials as designated and secure loads safely.
• Operate a forklift to assist in loading/unloading.
• Complete DOT paperwork.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings.

SCHEDULE
M-F Early AM start until route is complete -
Overnights - possibly once a month, occasionally

PAY
$28/hr plus OT ($72k-$75k/yearly OTE)
Eligible for quarterly safety bonuses of up to $450/quarter

POSITION SUMMARY

Delivery of materials to customers and other branches of Mid-Am Building Supply picking up materials and assisting in unloading and loading of these materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Drive delivery vehicle to designated points.
• Check off materials from shipping papers and obtain proper signature verifying delivery.
• Perform regular inspections, routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Pick up materials as designated.
• Secure all loads in a safe and orderly manner.
• Operate a forklift to assist in the loading and unloading process.
• Fill out all required DOT paperwork.
• Must attend and participate in company safety meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be familiar with DOT requirements and basic operating skills for delivery equipment.
• Must be able to read and write so the written instructions on shipping papers can be easily followed and corrections and needed information can be easily filled in.
• Must be able to pass our forklift operator test after a normal training procedure.
• Follow oral and written instructions effectively.
• Must be able to fill out paperwork required by DOT.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of building material products is a plus.
