Job summary

The Blood Connection, Incorporated is seeking a Phlebotomist to screen and collect whole blood from donors, including automated products, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

You will handle donor interactions, perform phlebotomy, and complete essential paperwork daily, with a focus on regulatory compliance and patient care. Weekend availability and flexible scheduling may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• National Phlebotomy certification preferred or 2+ years of Phlebotomy experience.
• Valid Driver's License with clean record and reliable transportation.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to follow SOP in FDA-regulated environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers.
• Ability to work with all levels in a diverse environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Screen prospective donors through medical history, mini physicals, and testing results.
• Perform venipuncture and operate automated collection systems.
• Provide donor post-collection care and monitor for reactions.
• Complete documentation: run sheets, QC sheets, logs, and device records.
• Maintain donor areas and ensure supplies are stocked for screening and collection.
• Participate in donor scheduling and outreach to optimize flow and staffing.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, FDA regulations, and AABB standards.
• Assist leadership and ensure accuracy of forms and records.
