Job summary

The Blood Connection, Incorporated is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist in Greenwood, SC. You will screen and collect blood from diverse donor groups, operate automated collection systems, and provide post‑phlebotomy care with strict adherence to SOPs and FDA/AABB standards.

You will manage scheduling, donor eligibility, and ensure accurate paperwork while maintaining high customer service standards. Some weekend work and schedule changes may be required to support blood drives and donor services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• National Phlebotomy certification preferred or two or more years of Phlebotomy experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
• Excellent customer services skills.
• Ability to follow SOP in a heavily regulated environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs onsite recruitment for automated donors when schedules are not full.
• Performs onsite recruitment for whole blood collections when donor flow slows.
• Screens prospective donors through medical history, mini physical, and test results.
• Performs donor health history and physical assessment per SOPs; selects collection materials.
• Operates automated collection system and administers post-phlebotomy care.
• Documents QC, run sheets, weekly maintenance, and device logs per SOPs.
