Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Production Assistant / Driver for its ARC facility. This hands‑on role blends warehouse tasks, donor interaction, and safe driving practices in DOT/OSHA standards to support recovery program work.

Responsibilities include operating a DOT‑regulated box truck, loading/unloading donations, following routes, and maintaining safety inspections. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2+ years driving, and a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean MVR (Kansas or Missouri).
• DOT-compliant license appropriate for operating a box truck in home state.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT) required.
• Pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Salvation Army courteously to all donors.
• Operate a DOT-regulated box truck for pickups/deliveries.
• Load and unload donations with care to protect item integrity.
• Follow routes/schedules using dispatch tools (DSS / iPad).
• Maintain communication with dispatch, warehouse, and supervision staff.
• Assist program beneficiaries with work-therapy goals and guidance.
• Complete pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle and safety equipment.
• Comply with DOT/OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Report accidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately.
• Wear required PPE and adhere to dress code.
• Be available for flexible hours including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
