Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Production Assistant / Driver to operate a DOT‑regulated box truck, collect and transport donated goods, and support the Adult Rehabilitation Center’s mission. This role blends warehouse operations, donor interaction, and safe driving within DOT/ OSHA standards.

We value strong communication, reliability, and a willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and early mornings, to support recovery programs and community services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with a clean MVR.
• DOT-compliant license and Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math and routing/reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Salvation Army with courteous, respectful donor interactions.
• Operate a DOT-regulated box truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Load and unload donations while maintaining item integrity.
• Follow routes and schedules using dispatch tools.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse, and supervisors.
• Assist program beneficiaries through guidance and mentoring.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections for safety.
• Comply with DOT and OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Report accidents or safety concerns immediately.
• Wear required PPE and maintain a professional appearance.
