Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Production Assistant / Driver to blend warehouse duties with safe truck operations collecting and transporting donated goods. This full-time role requires DOT- and OSHA-compliant driving, route adherence with dispatch tools, and mentoring work-therapy goals for program participants.

Responsibilities include daily pre/post-trip inspections and safe handling of donations, with DOT/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of licensed driving experience operating trucks or similar vehicles.
• Valid state driver’s license (Kansas or Missouri) with a clean MVR.
• DOT-compliant license for operating a box truck in the resident state.
• Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Med Card) per DOT regs.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Salvation Army courteously to all donors.
• Safely operate a DOT-regulated box truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Load and unload donations, maintaining item integrity.
• Follow routes and schedules using dispatch tools.
• Maintain communication with dispatch, warehouse, and supervisors.
• Support program beneficiaries through work-therapy guidance.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT/OSHA.
