Job summary

The Louisville Zoo is seeking an Individual Giving Coordinator to support fundraising by soliciting gifts from individuals, engaging current donors, and cultivating new donor relationships. The role reports to the Development Manager and collaborates with staff to manage donor data and craft proposals.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and four years of active solicitation experience, with emphasis on ethics, reporting, and donor stewardship in a museum or nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, English, public relations, or related discipline.
• Four (4) years of active solicitation experience, prospect management and donor research.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and manages individual giving strategies aligned with the organization’s annual and long-term fundraising goals.
• Manages a defined portfolio of individual donors and prospects, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention activities.
• Tracks, monitors, acknowledges, and records individual contributions in fundraising databases and ensures accuracy and completeness of donor records.
• Compiles, prepares, and interprets financial and fundraising reports related to individual giving performance.
• Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and ethical standards related to fundraising and donor relations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, English, public relations, or related discipline

Four (4) years of active solicitation experience, prospect management and donor research
