Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh is seeking a Development and External Affairs Associate to provide high level administrative support for annual fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, communications, and events. The role collaborates across departments to nurture relationships with donors, volunteers, partners, and officials while advancing the organization’s mission and visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, public relations, marketing, business, or related field.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and donor databases, website tools, and social media applications.
• Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or community engagement is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support annual fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship activities.
• Assist with communications, grant materials, and donor reports.
• Maintain donor records and dashboards in the organization’s database.
• Coordinate events, community relations, and outreach activities.
• Help prepare routine fundraising reports and campaign materials.
• Support sponsorship and donor recognition activities.
• Engage with community partners and elected officials as needed.
