Job summary

CSL is seeking a donor pheresis support role in a medical setting. Responsibilities include preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis, and ensuring the autopheresis machine is ready for use.

Responsibilities also cover monitoring the donor and process, responding to alarms, and disconnecting the donor when complete. Candidate will record incidents and donor data, maintain safety, confidentiality, and may be cross-trained in other areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents in the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in pheresis to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor, personnel and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
