Job summary

The Dempsey Center is seeking a Philanthropy Engagement Officer to cultivate and steward annual and leadership giving, managing a diverse donor portfolio in a Maine-based hybrid role. Travel to donor meetings and events is required as part of building strong relationships and securing five-figure gifts.

This role partners with the Senior Director of Development and the Development Team to design donor-centered communications, expand recurring giving, and grow legacy giving while advancing the

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five years of progressively responsible fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success soliciting and closing individual gifts.
• Strong relationship-building and donor stewardship skills.
• Proficiency in donor databases and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects capable of making gifts from annual fund levels through five-figure commitments.
• Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Conduct a minimum of 8+ donor visits, calls, and virtual meetings per month.
• Prepare proposals, solicitation materials, gift agreements, and stewardship reports.
• Collaborate with leadership, staff, and volunteers to strengthen donor engagement.
