Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families in Waltham, MA is seeking a Development Officer to grow our individual giving program. You will build donor relationships, research prospects, and collaborate with leadership to meet revenue goals of roughly $1 million this year.

This role involves planning major donor engagement, coordinating with the Vice President of Philanthropy, and supporting events such as galas, house parties, and fundraisers. Open date: immediate.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in nonprofit development; donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, portfolio management.
• Hands-on experience soliciting gifts and building donor relationships.
• Experience setting fundraising targets and tracking via reports.
• Proficiency with Salesforce or similar donor CRM (Salesforce preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, esp. Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manages and grows a portfolio of individual donors and prospects across giving levels, with responsibility for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention.
• Pursues opportunities to strengthen donor acquisition, retention, renewal, upgrades, recurring giving, and long-term engagement.
• Develops individualized donor strategies using moves management, philanthropic interests, giving history, capacity, and engagement opportunities.
• Conducts personalized outreach via calls, emails, and meetings to build relationships and strengthen donor engagement.
• Develops annual work plans and fundraising strategies aligned with priorities and revenue objectives.
