Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois is seeking a storefront associate to handle donation intake, sorting textiles and goods, and assisting with restocking and processing for transit. The role emphasizes responsive donor service and adherence to safety standards in a busy retail setting.

You will work in a store environment, standing and walking for long periods, with lifting requirements and the ability to manage various duties between customer service and warehouse tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the public and customers.
• Ability to follow safety rules and work in a retail environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Comfort with handling donations and processing textiles and goods.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations and provide donor receipts and information.
• Sort textiles, hard goods, and other items per store standards.
• Salvage, recycle or dispose of items as appropriate; prep goods for transit.
• Assist in unloading vehicles and in receiving trucks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow safety rules.
