Job summary

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes in Ithaca, NY is seeking a Donor Greeter to warmly welcome donors, assist with donations, and ensure items are handled properly to support our mission of elevating people, community, and planet.

You will be the friendly first contact for donors and visitors, recording donations, sorting items, and helping maintain a clean, safe store area. This role requires standing, lifting, and working indoors and outdoors as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail, warehouse, or donation centers is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and recordkeeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist donors with unloading and bringing donations into the store.
• Serve as the friendly first contact for donors and visitors.
• Accurately record and maintain donation log documentation.
• Sort donated goods into appropriate categories for processing.
• Label carts and equipment used for donation processing.
• Assist with loading/unloading merchandise and maintaining safety procedures.
• Address donor and customer concerns courteously and seek leadership when needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized donation area and store environment.
• Support store operations through cross-training and additional responsibilities.
