Job summary

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is seeking an ADC Donor Greeter to be the first point of contact for donors and help process donations for resale. You’ll welcome donors, record donations, and prepare merchandise while delivering an outstanding donor experience.

This role combines donation receiving, merchandise processing, and occasional retail tasks, with indoor and outdoor work and flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A friendly, customer‑focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous retail, customer service, warehouse, donation center, or processing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety, organization, and quality standards.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to adapt to a variety of responsibilities throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Donation Acceptance & Processing: Welcome and assist donors with unloading donations, record donations using tracking and reporting procedures, sort donated goods into containers and categories for processing, properly label carts, containers, and equipment, sort, test, clean, and prepare donated merchandise for quality review and resale, assist with loading/unloading merchandise and equipment, follow all safety procedures when handling donations, merchandise, and equipment.
• Customer & Donor Service: Greet donors and customers with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude, create a welcoming experience that encourages continued community support, assist donors with questions and provide information about Goodwill's mission and services, address concerns professionally and respectfully while following organizational policies, serve as a positive ambassador for Goodwill of the Finger Lakes in every interaction.
• Operational Support: Maintain clean, safe, and organized donation and work areas, assist with housekeeping and facility upkeep, support teammates and contribute to a positive workplace culture, participate in cross-training opportunities and perform additional duties as assigned.
