Job summary

Divers Alert Network in Durham, NC, is seeking a strategic Director of Annual Giving & Donor Engagement to lead the day-to-day operations of the organization's annual fundraising program and to help build a sustainable culture of philanthropy.

Reporting to the CFO, you will develop an annual giving strategy, oversee donor communications, stewardship, analytics, and development operations, and supervise staff while coordinating across Finance, IT, Marketing, and Membership to advance DAN's

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive fundraising experience with annual giving or donor engagement.
• Strong understanding of donor stewardship and relationship management.
• Experience developing and implementing annual fundraising plans.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze fundraising performance and utilize data to improve results.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFRE designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the comprehensive annual giving strategy.
• Establish annual fundraising goals, timelines, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate donor communications across print, email, and digital platforms.
• Work with Marketing and Communications to reflect DAN’s mission and impact in fundraising messaging.
• Develop segmented communications for various donor groups (Current, Lapsed, Members, Major donors).
• Oversee development operations and reporting; create dashboards and procedures.
• Support CEO’s major donor portfolio with research, stewardship, and follow-up activities.
• Coordinate donor stewardship programs and calendars.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, Marketing, Membership, and Board to integrate philanthropy across the organization.
