Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa is seeking a Sales Associate (Full-time or Part-Time) in Dubuque, IA. You will assist customers, handle register transactions, receive donations, and help with sorting, merchandising, and stocking to maintain a clean, welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers and donors, processing donations, operating the register, and supporting safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull fifty pounds with assistance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a positive attitude and infect others with similar enthusiasm.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers immediately upon entering the store and supports a positive shopping experience.
• Operates the cash register; ensures lines move efficiently with no more than 15 seconds wait for the first in line.
• Handles donations, sorting, grading, and stocking to keep merchandise well-stocked and presentable.
• Assists with donation processing and loading/unloading, and completes donation counts accurately.
• Provides tax receipt forms to donors and maintains a courteous donor experience.
• Maintains store and donation area cleanliness and safety; reports repairs and maintenance needs.
• Trains and guides new team members on duties and procedures.
• Supports salvage and recycling efforts to maximize revenue and minimize waste.
• Works with the team to maximize service opportunities and improve store operations.
