Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a dedicated Retail Associate to join our Ashland store. You will help maximize store appearance, assist customers, process donations, and ensure smooth daily operations.

No prior experience required; a High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Be ready to work evenings and weekends, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow safety and privacy policies as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination with work experience considered.
• No previous experience required.
• Will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and determine marketability as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Sorts raw material - categorize for store use, salvage, trash.
• Tags donated items according to Goodwill’s rotation system.
• Stands and hangs sorted goods for placement on the sales floor based on productivity standards.
• Produces appropriate number of items each day according to minimum standards.
• Adheres to uniform dress code standards as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Able to be cross trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
