Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a store associate to contribute to the mission in a busy retail environment. You will maximize efficiency, maintain store appearance, assist customers and fellow associates, and process donations quickly for placement on the sales floor.

This role requires teamwork, adherence to safety rules, the ability to learn multiple duties, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience considered.
• No previous experience required.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Not required to drive as part of job duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and raw material for quality for marketability.
• Sorts raw material and categorizes for store use, salvage, trash.
• Tags donated items according to rotation system.
• Places sorted goods on the retail floor per productivity standards.
• Upholds uniform dress code and safety policies.
• Demonstrates a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Able to learn multiple production and customer service positions.
