Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Maine is seeking a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete pickup and drop-off routes for donations. Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to read maps and plan and prioritize daily route coverage.
• Must be able to use iPad with GPS, texting and truck inspection report.
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Medical card may be required depending on city/state.
• Passing a DOT Physical is a requirement of the job.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security and safe operation of the vehicle and equipment.
• Perform daily walk-around vehicle inspection and report issues.
• Keep truck cab and box clean; remove personal items daily.
• Plan daily routing based on pickups; make all calls scheduled.
• Develop assigned routes and optimize pickup coverage across areas.
• Act as a representative of The Salvation Army; treat customers courteously and follow protocol.
• Maintain delivery manifests and trip logs; adhere to communication procedures.
• Assist with loading/unloading; secure goods using blankets and ropes to prevent damage.
• Provide assistance to Thrift Store personnel and supervise Truck Helper.
• Support work therapy program for beneficiaries through professional conduct and supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
