Job summary

Goodwill of Northern Illinois is seeking a store associate to welcome donors, process donations, and maintain organized sales floors. You will assist with unloading vehicles, sorting textiles and goods, and preparing merchandise for transit while upholding safety and service standards.

The role emphasizes accurate receipt processing, compliance with the Can’t Use list, and collaboration with team members in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the public and customers.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling donations and receipts.
• Ability to follow safety rules and store procedures.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise safely.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors promptly and politely, assist in unloading donations.
• Sort textiles and goods according to store criteria; salvage or discard as needed.
• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks; prepare goods for transit.
• Handle donor receipts and tax information accurately.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area in store and warehouse.
