Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking an associate to help customers with donated goods and perform timely, accurate, and safe pre-sorting of donations. You will greet donors, assist unloading vehicles, and sort donations by category while maintaining a clean and secure work area.

Responsibilities include loading trailers, following policies, reporting security issues, and upholding the organization’s standards. Some evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience considered.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications required.
• Not required to drive as part of the job duties.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers, internal and external.
• Assist customers with donations by greeting donors and helping unload their vehicle, careful not to damage the car.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label them accordingly.
• Safely load trailers with donations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety for associates and customers.
• Ensure the security of company assets and report suspected security or theft problems.
• Know and adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor about donation area issues and customers.
• Present a positive image by following dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment when dealing with customers.
