Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking an associate to assist customers with donated goods and perform timely, accurate pre-sorting of donations. You will greet donors, help unload vehicles, and ensure items are sorted by category with proper labeling.

The role requires maintaining a safe, clean work area and safeguarding company assets, while following policies and reporting issues to supervision. Some evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and work experience considered.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications required.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all customers.
• Assist donors with unloading their vehicle while avoiding damage to their car.
• Accurately presort donations by category and label accordingly.
• Safely load trailers with donated items.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment for safety.
• Ensure security of company assets and report any theft concerns.
• Adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Communicate issues with supervisor promptly and clearly.
• Maintain a positive public image by following dress code and hygiene standards.
• Exercise sound judgment in interactions with customers and Goodwill.
