Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Pre-Law, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of related work experience in law enforcement in a court setting.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Michigan Child Support Enforcement System Certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages cases, including recording, evaluating, and monitoring case documentation in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Responds to daily inquiries from litigants via phone, email, internet, and in-person; provides information regarding court processes, available services, and options for legal relief.
• Investigates noncompliant court orders and completes enforcement actions such as suspending licenses, withholding passports, or placing liens on financial accounts.
• Conducts show-cause hearings for litigants not in compliance with court orders.
• Executes pre-hearing interviews and negotiates possible settlements for court review.
• Issues and resolves civil bench warrants, refers cases for criminal prosecution, registers intergovernmental court orders, and testifies in civil and criminal court hearings.
• Performs related work as required.
