This position reports directly to the General Manager and is part of our Resort team. We operate under the mission "Pet Lovers Delighting Pet Lovers," emphasizing Playful, Passionate, Personal, and Professional qualities. The ideal candidate will embrace this culture, be a team player, self-motivated, receptive to feedback, possess excellent communication skills, and have a keen attention to detail. Passion for animals and experience with dogs, dog behavior, and reward-based training are essential.

A Day In The Life

This role involves training dogs from puppies to those needing reminders, understanding client goals, observing behaviors, crafting training plans, and sometimes training pet parents. You'll document observations, provide tips, and engage in routine tasks like cleaning and handling dog-related messes. Expect lots of interaction, training, and fun moments.

Responsibilities
  • Train dogs daily according to assigned programs
  • Develop training plans for behavior modification
  • Meet with clients to discuss progress and expectations
  • Provide enrichment activities for dogs
  • Document behavior and training status in various formats
  • Follow LIMA standards, using positive reinforcement techniques
  • Conduct group classes and private lessons
  • Assist with virtual training sessions as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments
  • Make recommendations to grow the business
  • Create social media content (photos, videos)

  • Understanding of dog behavior and breed characteristics
  • CCPDT certification or willingness to obtain within a year
