Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking a Canine Behavior Specialist to identify desired behaviors and develop tailored training plans that address aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and other challenges for pets and their families.

You will educate pet parents, train and certify other staff in dog training techniques, monitor progress, schedule sessions, and travel to multiple resort locations up to 20% of the time to ensure consistent service quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years industry-related experience and/or training.
• Pet Trainer Certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time across resort locations.
• Advanced knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior.
• Excellent communication, dog handling and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs of pets and pet parents.
• Develop suitable training plans addressing problem areas (aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, biting).
• Teach dogs to obey basic commands using tailored techniques.
• Educate pet parents on training methods to maintain learned skills.
• Examine progress and provide regular updates to pet parents.
• Promote and offer dog training programs to customers.
• Schedule training appointments and confirm bookings.
