Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking a Canine Behavior Specialist to assess dogs, develop customized training plans, and educate owners on behavior modification across our resort-style network. You will train and certify staff while tailoring programs to each dog’s needs.

Key duties include client consultations, creating plans for aggression and anxiety, teaching commands, and coordinating progress updates and training sessions with families at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Must have Pet Trainer Certification.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time across resort locations/regions.
• Strong knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior.
• Excellent communication, dog handling and problem-solving skills.
• Able to pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs of pets and pet parents (essential).Develop training plans addressing issues such as aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.Teach dogs to obey basic commands using tailored training techniques.Educate pet parents on maintenance of learned behaviors.Monitor progress and provide updates to pet parents.Promote and demonstrate training programs to customers.Answer questions on training services and pricing.Travel to Pet Paradise locations to train staff on techniques.Schedule training appointments and confirm bookings.
