Pet Paradise is hiring a Canine Behavior Specialist to identify desired behaviors and develop training plans for dogs and their owners. You will educate clients, train staff, and travel to locations to share techniques.

The role requires advanced knowledge of dog training, animal behavior, and excellent communication and dog handling skills. The position includes teaching basic commands, addressing issues like aggression and separation anxiety, and providing progress updates to pet parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Pet Trainer Certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% across resort locations/regions.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs of pets and pet parents.
• Develop suitable training plans addressing issues like aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
• Teach dogs to obey basic commands using training techniques suited to each dog.
• Educate pet parents on methods to enforce and maintain behaviors learned during training sessions.
• Examine progress and provide regular updates to pet parents.
• Promote, demonstrate, and offer dog training programs to pet parents.
• Answer questions regarding training, behavioral issues, and pricing for training services.
• Travel to Pet Paradise locations to train other employees in dog training techniques.
• Contact customers to schedule training appointments and verify bookings.
