Pet Paradise in Saint Augustine, FL seeks a Canine Behavior Specialist to identify desired behaviors and craft tailored training plans for dogs and their owners. You will train colleagues, educate clients, and lead behavior modification sessions across locations.

Ideal candidates have a GED or higher, 2 years in dog training, and a certified Pet Trainer credential, with strong communication and travel willingness to 20% across resort locations.

Qualifications

• Two years industry-related experience and/or training.
• Pet Trainer Certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time across resort locations.
• Advanced knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior.
• Strong communication, dog handling and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs.
• Develop suitable training plans addressing aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
• Teach dogs to obey basic commands using tailored techniques.
• Educate pet parents on methods to sustain learned behaviors.
• Examine progress and provide updates to pet parents.
• Promote and demonstrate dog training programs to clients.
• Answer questions regarding training, behavior, and pricing.
• Travel to Pet Paradise locations to train staff and verify bookings.
