Pet Paradise is seeking a Canine Behavior Specialist to assess behavioral concerns, design customized training plans, and teach dogs basic commands. You will educate pet parents on sustaining skills and train staff across locations to ensure consistent methods.

The role requires strong dog-handling abilities, excellent communication, and up to 20% travel. A GED or high school diploma and a Pet Trainer Certification are essential qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years industry related experience and/or training.
• Pet Trainer Certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time across locations.
• Advanced knowledge of dog training techniques and body language.
• Excellent communication and dog-handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs.
• Develop training plans addressing aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
• Teach dogs to obey basic commands using tailored techniques.
• Educate pet parents on maintaining learned behaviors.
• Monitor progress and provide updates to pet parents.
• Travel to Pet Paradise locations to train staff in dog training techniques.
