Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking a Canine Behavior Specialist to identify desired behaviors and develop effective training plans for dogs and owners. You will educate pet parents on techniques, customize plans, and monitor progress, delivering consistent results across our locations.

This role requires advanced dog training knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 20% to train staff and support customers across resort locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years industry related experience and/or training.
• Pet Trainer Certification required.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of travel across resort locations/regions.
• Advanced knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior.
• Excellent communication, dog handling and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs of pets and pet parents.
• Develop suitable training plans, focusing on problem areas such as aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity and biting.
• Teach dogs to obey basic commands using tailored training methods.
• Educate pet parents on maintaining learned behaviors and skills.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to pet parents.
• Promote and demonstrate dog training programs to customers.
• Answer questions regarding training, behavior, and pricing for services.
• Travel to Pet Paradise locations to train other employees.
• Contact customers to schedule training appointments and confirm bookings.
