Job summary

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years administering, updating, and troubleshooting enterprise operating systems in virtual machine environments.
• Experience executing system patch deployments, verification testing, and regression analysis across multi-node or multi-server baselines.
• Hands-on scripting or CLI tool experience for automation and system health validation.
• Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, certificates, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with SDLC processes and defect tracking tools (Jira, Confluence, GitLab).
• 1–3 years onsite or classroom instruction, including virtual training and curriculum development.
• Security+ certification.
• Active passport.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute structured test procedures to validate patches, hotfixes, and updates prior to operational release across VM baselines.
• Perform functional regression testing to ensure patches do not disrupt services or inter-system communications.
• Isolate, troubleshoot, and document system faults and configuration anomalies after patching.
• Validate security postures post-patching and coordinate defect tracking in Jira or equivalent systems.
• Maintain VM baseline integrity and verify system health, service states, and event logs.
• Author and update SOPs, test plans, regression checklists, and release validation reports.
• Interface with Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Army to report patch impacts and test results.
• Assist in curriculum development for C2 and targeting applications.
• Provide classroom or virtual instruction to students ranging from beginners to Subject Matter Experts.
• Provide over-the-shoulder instruction on naval platforms and lab environments.
• Travel up to 25% and work aboard Navy ships.
