Job summary

KaylaTek is seeking an experienced network engineer to join its DoD-focused team at Joint Base Andrews, MD. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues across enterprise routers and switches, ensuring security posture and DoD compliance.

The role requires a current DoD Secret clearance and 8140 IAT Level II certification, with advanced LAN switching and Layer 3 routing expertise. On-site schedule with after-hours support and on-call rotation apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience; equivalent years may be considered.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• 8140 IAT Level II certificate (CCNA/CCNP Security) required.
• Expert LAN switching knowledge: VLANs, VLAN Trunking, Port Security, STP, Layer 2/3 configs.
• Expert Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP/OSPF/IS-IS).
• Experience with DoD network security hardening requirements and encryption devices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks and infrastructure for alarms or issues.
• Troubleshoot and escalate problems as needed.
• Interact with vendors to resolve outages or performance issues.
• Maintain security posture on all network equipment per DoD mandates.
• Support on-call rotation and site operations.
