Job summary

Sandy Mac Evolution seeks an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) II at Schriever AFB, CO. The role ensures the security posture of a DoD information system, coordinating with ISSM/ISO and managing authorization documentation and system operations.

Requirements include 2–5 years of related experience, DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II, and TS/SCI eligibility. Travel/physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and strict security clearance adherence.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years related experience in RMF packages or bodies of evidence.
• Prior performance in roles such as System/Network Administrator or ISSO.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II requirement (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Assist the ISSM in meeting duties and responsibilities.
• Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
• Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
• Notify ISSM of changes that might affect authorization determinations.
• Conduct periodic reviews of information systems for compliance with the security authorization package.
• Coordinate changes to hardware/software/firmware with ISSM and AO/DAO prior to changes.
• Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features are restored and functioning.
• Ensure security documentation is current and accessible to authorized individuals.
• Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (including anomalies).
• Attend required security training relative to duties.
• Execute cyber security portion of self-inspection and review of system assessment plans.
• Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with countermeasures.
• Prepare reports on security safeguards status.
• Perform ISSO duties for in-house and external customers.
• Conduct security impact analysis for configuration management changes.
