Job summary

SMX seeks a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client. You design solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements and modify data models as needed.

You will define test cases, build data models and reports from ERP/legacy data, and coordinate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications. A Secret clearance and strong cross-functional communication are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experience in data engineering, data science and data analytics; not a Cloud Full Stack role.
• Familiarity with Databricks and Palantir Foundry.
• Database design and architecture knowledge (relational/non-relational).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and discuss with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud architecture.
• Experience with software engineering tools and processes (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently and share knowledge (code reviews, documentation).
• Driven, self-directed, mission-focused attitude.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE.

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, Pyspark) and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements.
• Modify existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify results to ensure solutions function as designed.
• Build data models and reports from ERP/legacy datasets.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to determine reporting requirements and translate them into technical specs.
