Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Science Consultant to support our Army Client, focusing on delivering data-driven capabilities using Databricks and Palantir Foundry. You will design new solutions, modify data models, define tests, build data models and reports from ERP and legacy systems, and coordinate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specs.

The role requires 2+ years in development, proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark, familiarity with Databricks, and a strong

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands on development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and Pyspark.
• Experience in data engineering, data science and data analytics.
• Familiarity with Databricks.
• Familiarity with database design and architecture; relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and participate in discussions.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture: AWS/Azure.
• Proficiency with software engineering tools (estimation, issue tracking, version control, debugging).
• Proven ability to work independently without supervision.
• Proven experience in knowledge sharing (code reviews, documentation).
• Driven, self-directed personality.
• Strong sense of mission and commitment to making a difference.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Active Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Design new solutions using Databricks (SQL, Python, PySpark) and Palantir Foundry to meet business requirements.
• Design modifications to existing data model solutions as needed.
• Define test cases and verify test results to ensure solutions function as designed.
• Build data models and reports using datasets from ERPs and legacy systems.
• Coordinate with stakeholders/users to determine reporting requirements and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
