Brixey & Meyer is seeking a CFO Services Manager with DoD expertise to oversee multiple engagements and lead a team of seniors and accountants. The role focuses on outsourced accounting and interim Controller work for DoD clients, ensuring compliance and high-quality service.

The ideal candidate has strong DoD accounting, cost accounting, and government contract knowledge, plus coaching, business development, and cross-functional collaboration abilities. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Master’s degree or continuing coursework is preferred
• 2+ years of managerial or direct supervisory experience
• Advanced computer literacy, including proficient use of all Microsoft Office products
• Valid Driver’s license and transportation to client sites up to 1 hour from the home office location
• Proven ability to work individually and collaboratively within a team setting
• The desire to have fun with your work and to contribute to our unique company culture
• Process oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
• 7+ years of qualified work experience in finance or accounting supporting Department of Defense companies

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality CFO services to clients
• Ensure DoD financial regulatory compliance (FAR, CAS)
• Analyze cost structures and allocate indirect rates
• Oversee DCAA audits and respond to findings
• Develop compliant cost proposals and narratives
• Advise on budgeting and forecasting for programs
• Review contracts and onboarding
• Manage client expectations and service quality
• Staff scheduling and utilization across engagements
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Identify value, reduce costs, maximize efficiencies
• Mentor seniors and accountants
• Navigate QuickBooks Online and ERP systems
• Assist hiring and team development
• Meet annual billable hours
• Grow new business and cross-sell services
• Participate in firm committees and community involvement
