Health Information Management Clerk (Scanning)
100% onsite. Requires working weekends and some holidays.
The Document Control Specialist is responsible for prepping, scanning, and indexing clinical paper documentation (medical records) for Jefferson Health Center City. This includes records for hospital and physician practices. The specialist performs quality reviews to ensure documentation includes clear patient identifiers, service dates, authentication, and complies with The Joint Commission, State, Federal Laws, and other regulatory requirements. They assign documentation to the correct patient, encounter, and document type in the EHR, providing timely, accurate, and accessible electronic patient health information. They collaborate with the Manager of HIM Document Management & Record Integrity to ensure all clinical documentation is accessible within the EHR within 24 hours of creation or other defined time frames.
