Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to support loading and unloading freight, ensuring correct items go onto the right trailers and adherence to safety standards.

You'll operate forklifts and pallet jacks, secure freight with straps and airbags, and work with the Dock Yard Management System to track shipments across the service center. A strong work ethic and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with loading/unloading freight and safe handling procedures preferred.
• Familiarity with shipping documents and freight forms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts, pallet jack or manual methods.
• Secure freight with straps, airbags, and appropriate supplies to prevent damage.
• Monitor locations with the Dock Yard Management System and read shipping labels and manifests.
• Perform duties to ensure on-time deliveries and maintain safety standards.
