The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with forklift operation, loading techniques, and dock yard management systems. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Knowledge of freight transportation procedures and loading techniques (tight/cross loading).
• Ability to use dock yard management system to monitor shipment locations.
• Ability to read shipping labels and complete freight forms.
• Ability to operate handheld tablets on site.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods in line with DOT guidelines.
• Apply loading techniques such as tight or cross loading.
• Move freight across the service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
• Use Dock Yard Management System to track freight locations.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and freight documents.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps, rope, and related tools; ensure quality loading of trailers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
