Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight, ensuring the correct items are placed on trucks and secured for transport. You will work with forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual methods in a fast-paced service center environment.

Safety and accuracy are critical as you read labels, complete shipping documents, and monitor shipment locations with the yard management system. A high school diploma and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must understand freight handling and loading/unloading procedures.
• Ability to read shipping labels and complete freight movement forms.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods in line with DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight within the service center using appropriate equipment.
• Secure freight inside trailers with airbags, straps, or rope to prevent damage.
