Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. in North Carolina seeks a Dockmaster to lead dock activities, coordinate trailer movements, and work closely with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to keep daily dock operations running smoothly.

The role emphasizes accountability, safety, and customer service excellence, with a 1st shift Monday–Friday schedule. Experience in warehouse environments and strong communication skills are valued, along with proficiency in Office 365 and Google Suite.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Proven ability to follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication skills with daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related equipment.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for loading/unloading dock activities.
• Manage trailer docking, release, and yard flow.
• Monitor dock conditions and exercise stop-work authority when unsafe.
• Coordinate daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and safety standards.
• Support dock and yard organization following 7S standards.
