Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Dock Worker in Kansas City, MO to support a data center logistics operation. You’ll handle inbound/outbound shipments, load and unload equipment, and assist with assembly of IT hardware.

Expect various shifts and a strong temp-to-hire path, with competitive pay and a focus on safety. You will work with SAP/Oracle/ServiceNow systems, use handheld scanners, and coordinate with teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of server infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, logistics, or material handling preferred.
• Strong attention to detail when recording serial numbers, part numbers and shipment data.
• Ability to safely lift, move and position equipment according to site safety rules.
• Able to follow written procedures, work independently, and communicate with team and delivery personnel.
• Familiarity with enterprise software (SAP, Oracle, ServiceNow) and basic email/spreadsheet apps.
• Reliable, organized, and willing to learn site-specific systems and equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a loading dock environment with proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound shipments of IT equipment, hardware components, and server infrastructure.
• Safely load and unload freight including server racks, switches, cabling, and data center equipment.
• Inspect shipments for part-number accuracy, quantities, damage, and discrepancies.
• Perform daily inventory cycle counts and update records in warehouse management systems.
• Operate material-handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, straddle stackers, and rack movers.
• Transport server racks to designated areas and assist with assembly, installation, or uncrating of components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free loading dock and follow safety procedures with PPE.
• Coordinate with logistics, inventory, transportation, and operations teams to resolve issues.

Pay Rate: $23 – $27.50 per hour (depending on shift)

What’s a typical day as a Dock Worker? You’ll be:

• Managing inbound and outbound shipments of sensitive IT equipment, hardware components, and server infrastructure

• Safely loading and unloading freight, including server racks, switches, cabling, and other data center equipment

• Inspecting shipments for part-number accuracy, correct quantities, visible damage, and discrepancies

• Performing daily inventory cycle counts and updating records in warehouse management systems

• Operating material-handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, straddle stackers, and rack movers

• Transporting server racks to designated areas and assisting with basic assembly, installation, or uncrating of components

• Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free loading dock, following all safety procedures and using required PPE

• Coordinating with logistics, inventory, transportation, and operations teams to resolve issues promptly

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have previous experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, logistics, or material handling (preferred)

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, especially when recording serial numbers, part numbers, and shipment data

• Can safely lift, move, and position equipment according to site requirements and safety standards

• Are able to follow written procedures, work independently, and communicate effectively with team members and delivery personnel

• Are comfortable using enterprise software (such as SAP, Oracle, ServiceNow), handheld scanners, and basic email/spreadsheet applications (Outlook, Gmail, Excel)

• Are reliable, organized, and willing to learn site-specific systems, procedures, and equipment

• Can regularly stand, walk, bend, and work in a warehouse or loading-dock environment, and use proper lifting techniques
