Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line in Memphis, TN is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead daily dock operations, ensure safety, and drive efficiency across the freight network. You will supervise teams, utilize OD’s technology, and uphold our standards for safety, quality, and service as we move freight across our network.

The role requires oversight of loading/unloading, scheduling, and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations, with opportunities for professional growth within a longstanding OD culture.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years working operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems.
• Knowledge of general DOT regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety of each employee daily.
• Oversee safe, efficient loading and unloading of freight.
• Teach safe lifting techniques and ensure safe practices.
• Maintain shift housekeeping for safety and productivity.
• Supervise dock staff and allocate work to meet OD and customer expectations.
• Manage dock work schedules and time off requests.
• Collaborate with Operations Manager to meet business objectives.
• Provide operational analyses and improvement ideas.
