Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line seeks a Dock Representative in Ketchikan to coordinate shore excursions, manage vendor relations, and support guest services during Alaska's busy season.

You will serve as the primary contact for local vendors and Shore Excursion Managers, ensuring on-time departures and safe, orderly dock operations. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with cruise ships from the port side of operations.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States and at least 18 years old.
• Able to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors and Shore Excursion Managers for ships serviced.
• Interact with guests and ship personnel professionally; confirm tour numbers and ensure gear is staged safely on the docks.
• Coordinate with supervisors to fulfill ships' requests and bookings on the dispatch.
• Follow company policies and health and safety standards.

Our team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing to Alaska each summer, lodges and hotels, luxury motor coaches and the largest domed rail cars in the world. Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing and maintaining a cooperative relationship and are the primary contact for local vendors and Shore Excursion Managers for the various ships serviced.
• They will interact with guests and ship personnel in a professional manner both in attitude and dress. They are responsible for confirming tour numbers on the docks and ensuring that all equipment is staged properly and safely on the docks, ready to execute departures on time.
• Work closely with supervisors and managers to ensure that the ships requests, questions and bookings are met and reflected on the dispatch.
• Accountable for carrying out their responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.

Requirements

• One year of experience with cruise ships from the port side of operations.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a clean driving record to qualify for driving company vehicles.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
