Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day multimodal logistics activities, ensuring safe, efficient execution and strong customer service. You will oversee frontline teams, monitor productivity, and drive Lean/Kaizen initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years in warehouse/distribution operations, a forklift certification, and solid experience with WMS/TMS/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in warehouse, distribution, or transportation operations including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure before operating equipment.
• Experience leading frontline teams in fast-paced environments with focus on performance and development.
• Proficient English communication (verbal and written).
• Working knowledge of WMS, TMS, ERP and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operational activities across logistics workflows.
• Coordinate and prioritize work assignments to meet targets.
• Ensure safe, accurate handling of inventory and freight.
• Monitor workflow, resource use, and equipment usage.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory policies.
• Lead safety observations and support safety initiatives.
• Adhere to SOPs and change control processes.
• Support audits and compliance with ISO/OSHA/DOT where applicable.
• Lead problem-solving for service issues and delays.
• Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen for continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, cost, and service.
• Respond to issues in real time and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including transportation, planning, customer service, and quality.
• Provide frontline coaching and performance management.
• Support training and onboarding of team members.
• All other duties as assigned.
